Santa Cruz Skateboards has teamed up with Carver to bring a vibrant new line of surf skate cruisers that perfectly blend style, innovation, and performance. This collaboration results in decks that are uniquely designed and precisely tuned for use with Carver’s renowned surf trucks. Crafted from durable 7-ply North American Maple, these surf skates are built to endure and perform.
Each complete skateboard features the iconic Santa Cruz artwork, coupled with diverse deck shapes ranging from nostalgic 80s-inspired designs to sleek swallowtail surfboard silhouettes. These decks are optimized for Carver trucks, delivering an authentic surf-style carving experience that captures the essence of the ocean on land.
Carver Trucks Specially Selected for Santa Cruz Surf Skates
The collection includes two primary truck sets: the innovative Carver C5 and the versatile Carver CX.
Carver C5 Truck Set
The C5 represents a new wave of surf skate technology, designed to combine tricks, flow, and technical maneuvers into one seamless riding experience. Its shorter (2 7/8 inches) and narrower (8 1/2 inches) front truck allows for compatibility with smaller decks and street/hybrid cruisers. The C5 excels at extreme carving and pumping, thanks to its specialized surf truck geometry. The lower center of gravity not only enhances stability but also provides increased pop for ollies and flips. The rear C4 truck remains a standard TKP, ensuring stability while enabling aggressive turns. Both trucks are lightweight, featuring hollow axles and kingpins, making them ideal for a dynamic “surf n street” riding style.
Carver CX Truck Set
The CX is a hybrid surf and skate truck designed for responsiveness and agility. Its lightweight RKP design features a unique geometry that enhances turning radius and offers a lively, surf-style carving experience. While simpler than the C7, the CX provides excellent stability and pumpability, making it suitable for aerial tricks and aggressive maneuvers. Taller (3 5/8 inches) and wider (9 inches) than the C5, the CX is tailored for larger decks. The rear set includes a C2 TKP truck, ensuring optimal control and stability during carving and pumping.
